Cookies
What a cookie is
A small text file a website places in your browser and reads back on your next visit. Some are needed to make a site work, such as keeping a shopping basket filled. Most, however, are used to follow you around the internet.
This site uses none
I place no cookies in your browser and store nothing in it. There is no measurement code, no advertising tag and no social embed. The site is made of files prepared in advance, which the server simply hands to your browser.
Which is why there is no banner
The banner that throws itself at you on most sites exists because tracking cookies may not be placed without consent. Here there is nothing to consent to, so there is nothing to ask.
Fonts and images are served from here too
Many sites load their fonts and measurement scripts from elsewhere, and your browser then sends data to a third party even though you are only reading the page. On this site everything is served from here, so that does not happen.
What is separate from this
The site is served by Cloudflare, which, like every web server, logs requests in order to serve and protect them. It may place a temporary technical cookie while filtering an attack. That is not tracking, and it is not something I ask for. It is part of serving the site safely.
If this changes
If measurement or anything else ever makes a cookie necessary, I will describe it here with a date, and it will only be placed with your consent. Until then the date at the foot of this page shows when this text was last true.
